IntegenXRapidHIT® Human Identification System

Today, the majority of forensic genetic testing is performed by STR (short tandem repeat) typing based on PCR and capillary electrophoresis. The RapidHIT® System developed by IntegenX is the first fully automated sample-to-result STR-based human identification system. This system uses GlobalFiler® Express cartridges. With this closed system, standard DNA profiles can be obtained from human samples in an average of 90 minutes. The RapidHIT® System uses DNA extraction, PCR and capillary electrophoresis. The system can perform 1-5 DNA typing at the same time, requiring only 3 minutes of staff time to perform these procedures. SureID® 21G Human STR Identification kit is a 5-dye STR (short tandem repeat) multiplex test kit. Simultaneously amplifying 20 autosomal STR loci and the sex marker Amelogenin locus, this kit contains all original CODIS (Combined DNA Index System) regions and loci from the expanded European Standard Set. This kit can be used for applications such as human DNA databanking, crime scene investigation, smuggler control and DNA fingerprint identification.
